EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers have signed free agent defenceman Ryan Shea to a five-year contract with an AAV of $4.0 million.
Shea (6’1”, 200 lbs, 29) spent last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, recording six goals and 29 assists along with 22 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +30.
The left-shot, Milton, MA native was Chicago’s fourth-round selection (121st overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft and signed with Dallas in 2020.
Following three seasons with the Stars’ AHL affiliate, he signed with the Pens and went on to dress in 150 games over the past three seasons, tallying nine goals and 32 assists for 41 points with 42 penalty minutes and a plus/minus of +22.
