EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers and ATCO are gearing up to hit the road for the 12th annual Oilers Hockey Clinic presented by ATCO. This year's clinic, focused on grassroots hockey development, will head north to Slave Lake, Alberta for the first time in Oilers Hockey Clinic history.
Held at the Slake Lake Multi-Rec Centre from May 27-29, 2022, the Oilers Hockey Clinic presented by ATCO is free of charge for 100 lucky participants in the community and gives players aged 7 to 13 the opportunity to experience high-calibre training while further developing their hockey and life skills in a fun atmosphere.
All local players aged 7 to 13 interested in participating are invited to register by Friday, May 6 at 5:00 PM MT. A random lottery will follow to determine the lucky participants.
"In partnership with ATCO, we are thrilled to bring the Oilers Hockey Clinic to the community of Slave Lake. ATCO's continued commitment to their customers and communities will be on full display May 27-29 with a community BBQ Friday night followed by 100 participants furthering their hockey development with a two-day hockey camp," said Oilers Vice President of Corporate Partnerships Abe Hajar. "Giving back to the community and making hockey more accessible to fans in Oil Country is just another reason we are proud to partner with ATCO."

Kicking off the weekend, all Slave Lake and surrounding residents are invited to a complimentary Oilers community kick-off presented by ATCO held on Friday, May 27 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM MT at the Multi-Rec Centre. The kick-off is open to the public and gives the community a chance to enjoy complimentary food, activities and the presence of Oilers Alumni alongside the Orange and Blue Ice Crew for games and giveaways.
Our partnership with the Oilers goes beyond the ice. By way of the Hockey Clinic, it extends into the communities we have the privilege to serve, to provide aspiring young hockey players an experience they'll never forget," said Jason Sharpe, President of ATCO Gas & Pipelines. "After a two-year hiatus, we're excited to once again partner with the Oilers and bring the event to the Town of Slave Lake. We look forward to seeing everyone in-person and kicking things off at the community BBQ."
Following Friday's festivities, the Oilers Hockey Clinic will follow on Saturday and Sunday featuring multiple daily on-ice sessions, dryland training, concussion management sessions, physiotherapy clinics and yoga to help further the development of each participant. Instructors from Oilers Hockey School and Hockey Alberta will be on-site to ensure the students have a great learning experience in a fun environment.
