McDavid & Draisaitl one tick from centennial point

It's an old league, the NHL. With the influx of young talent, though, it doesn't seem that way.
Among the youthful cohort are Oilers Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, who are kicking off the NHL's centennial year one goal or assist away from the centennial point in both their careers.

Skating on a line and routinely generating offence together, the two came within one mark of the accolade Monday against the Arizona Coyotes when Draisaitl received a pass from McDavid inside the offensive zone. The Cologne, Germany native dangled, then went shelf on goaltender Mike Smith.
Like they did on career point No. 99, the teammates could very well reach their 100th on the same goal again, very soon.
"Yeah, it'd be fun," said Draisaitl. "Obviously, [McDavid's] played about a thousand games less than I have."
It's only 64 fewer games but that doesn't underscore the career achievement for two Oilers making their mark in the League.
"It's a nice milestone and it'd be nice to get it together."
Draisaitl has played 155 NHL games, recording 38 goals and 61 assists. In 91 matches, McDavid has 30 goals and 69 assists.
