EDMONTON, AB - Flyin' McLeod.
Oilers 2018 second-round selection Ryan McLeod was active Thursday at the Billy Moores Cup, using his wide stance, creativity and undeniable speed to manufacture offence all scrimmage.
"They picked me because I have good speed," McLeod said following Team Messier's 4-2 victory, which signalled the conclusion of Oilers Development Camp.
"I can skate at an NHL level and I was happy to do that."
McLeod teamed up with Kailer Yamamoto and Evan Bouchard on several occasions offensively but also explored a few individual efforts.
The forward dashed from his own end up ice, zipping past all opposition to manifest a partial break on Shane Starrett in the second period. With an extended handle on his stick, McLeod almost slipped the biscuit past Starrett's far side but just missed.
