EDMONTON, AB -Oilers Vice-President of Player Development Scott Howson was on hand at Day 1 of Oilers Rookie Camp, fielding the media regarding the current state of the organization's prospect pool.
Howson also provided an update on injured players, beginning with Ryan Mantha. The rearguard suffered a frightful blood clot in his eye last season with the Bakersfield Condors.
"He's had a very serious injury and he hasn't been cleared by the medical people to continue playing right now," Howson said of Mantha, who tallied three goals and 10 points in 41 outings with the Condors in 2017-18.
