EDMONTON, AB - Voids on defence due to Darnell Nurse's contract negotiation and Andrej Sekera's Achilles injury provides an opportunity for a few defencemen at Oilers Main Camp.
Among those blueliners are one-year contract signees Jakub Jerabek and Kevin Gravel, former Vegas Golden Knights defender Jason Garrison, farmhands Keegan Lowe, Caleb Jones, Ethan Bear and prospect Evan Bouchard.
Oilers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Peter Chiarelli was asked about the defencemen at Camp, beginning with Jerabek.
"He's going to get a shot here," said Chiarelli. "He's a very cerebral player, an economical player and you can see the smarts out there in him."
