"We all knew that this was a big game and would be a good test for us, and I thought we passed our test," said Benn, who said he hadn't thought about the milestone going into the game.

WPG@DAL: Seguin flicks backhander for his second goal

"It just speaks volumes about what he's done here in his career," first-year Stars coach Jim Montgomery said. "What I've really enjoyed is how vocal he is and how accountable he holds everyone."
The line of Benn, Seguin and Radulov accounted for all five goals and five assists. Last season, those three players scored 45 percent of Dallas' goals (103 of 231).
"They all have a different skill set," Jets forward Adam Lowry said of the three forwards. "They're similar to our top line. They read off each other so well."
Dallas was 3 for 5 on the power play. Winnipeg has committed nine penalties in two games.
"We didn't give ourselves a chance to get going," Jets coach Paul Maurice said. "We were in the penalty box too much early and not very effective on the kill here at all tonight."

WPG@DAL: Benn buries his second PPG of the game

Of the Winnipeg penalties, Maurice said, "Some I didn't like. Some we deserved."
Benn scored on his rebound at the edge of the crease at 7:26 of the second period to give the Stars a 3-1 lead. He scored at 7:38 of the third period, redirecting a pass by Seguin from the left point to make it 4-1.
Dallas took a 1-0 lead at 8:23 of the first period on a goal by Radulov. A goalie interference penalty by Blake Wheeler of the Jets at 9:43 of the first led to a power-play goal by Seguin at 11:18 that made it 2-0.
Seguin scored his second at 12:41 of the third period on a pass from behind the net by Radulov for a 5-1 lead.
Kyle Connor got Winnipeg within 2-1 at 2:10 of the second period with a wrist shot from the left circle.
Connor Hellebuyck made 30 saves for Winnipeg, which won its season opener.
The Jets had a shorthanded goal by Brandon Tanev at 5:07 of the first period disallowed because of goalie interference. Maurice said he didn't consider appealing the call.
"Once it's called, it's got to be really conclusive to overturn it," Maurice said. "I thought he got pushed, but … I didn't think I had any chance to get it overturned."

WPG@DAL: Bishop denies Scheifele with his blocker

The goal by Connor ended Bishop's season-starting shutout streak at 82:09.
"He has been fantastic," Dallas defenseman Marc Methot said of Bishop, who missed the last nine games of 2017-18 with a knee injury. "He knows that if you want to make the postseason in this league and make some noise, you've got to have good goaltending. When we have out healthy [Bishop] back there, we're a dangerous team."

"I thought we were really smart. We weren't emotional, but we played with emotion. That's a hard line to find." -- Stars forward Tyler Seguin
