The New Jersey Devils want to build on the good things that came out of a 3-2 shootout loss to the New York Rangers on Sunday, which extended their losing streak to six games (0-5-1). "Our focus can't be on the win or the loss, it has to be on why are we getting our game going in the right direction and how do we take a step further, because it is not totally where it needs to be," coach John Hynes said after the morning skate Tuesday. "Our attention to detail in the defensive zone was much better," forward Kyle Palmieri said. "We maybe gave up a few more odd-man rushes than we would have liked, but in the defensive zone, our attention to detail and our structure was where it needs to be to be successful. I don't think we gave [the Rangers] too many good looks or extended time in our zone." Hynes said he wants to continue to see the Devils get back to the speed game they showed early in the season, when they went 9-3-3 in their first 15 games.
