Wild team scope

Minnesota Wild coach Bruce Boudreau returns to Anaheim for the first time since he was fired by the Anaheim Ducks on April 29 after four-and-a-half seasons. Boudreau has been reconnecting with friends in Southern California but he's not worried about the emotions of being back in Anaheim. Instead, he's more worried about his appetite. "I hope they have a good media room [Sunday]," Boudreau joked. "For food and all that. But that's about it." The Wild have won 13 of their past 15 games but are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. They led 2-0 in the first period but allowed three straight goals before tying the game with 43 seconds left and giving up a goal to Tanner Pearson in overtime. "We fought back and every point is a good point, there's no doubt," Boudreau said. "I just don't like the trends that are happening in the last six games. If we want to be a legitimate good team, we have to correct those things." The Wild did not have a morning skate.

Ducks team scope

Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf has skated on his own the past three days but will miss his third straight game because of a lower-body injury. Rickard Rakell has been center on the top line and is plus-1 in Getzlaf's absence. Anaheim won its first overtime game Friday, 3-2 against the Arizona Coyotes, when Ondrej Kase scored his first NHL overtime goal and his first game-winning goal. The Ducks lost their first seven games decided in overtime. "We finally got the monkey off our back," coach Randy Carlyle said. "It's been too long and too many points that went by the wayside. Tonight, we found a way to get it done. It's nice to see a young kid, who had lots of chances in the game, deliver in overtime." The Ducks did not practice Saturday and held an optional morning skate Sunday.
