Petersen, 24, earned his first NHL win in a 2-1 shootout victory at the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday before he made 38 saves in a 5-3 loss at the Nashville Predators on Saturday. He has a 2.27 goals-against average and .935 save percentage in three games (two starts).
The Kings are 1-4-0 in their past five games and 4-11-0 in their past 15.
The Blues will be without forward Jaden Schwartz and defenseman Carl Gunnarsson after each sustained an upper-body injury in a 4-1 win at the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday. Each is expected to be out until the weekend.
Forwards Alexander Steen and Pat Maroon each will be out for his third straight game with an upper-body injury.
St. Louis is 1-3-0 in its past four games after going 4-1-0 in its previous five games.
