Korpisalo has won each of his past two starts for the Blue Jackets, 7-4 at the St. Louis Blues on Thursday and 5-4 in overtime against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday. He is 4-0-0 with a 3.46 goals-against average and .897 save percentage in four starts this season.
Sergei Bobrovsky, who is 2-4-0 with a 3.87 GAA and .872 save percentage in six games, has not played since a 4-1 loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Oct. 23.
Forward Andreas Athanasiou and center Frans Nielsen will not play for the Red Wings because of undisclosed injuries sustained during a 4-2 win against the Dallas Stars on Sunday.
Detroit is 2-2-0 in its past four games after an 0-5-2 start to the season.
