Dubinsky is a hockey player's hockey player. He can score a big goal, win a big faceoff, work the power play or penalty kill, throw a big hit and even get under an opponent's skin.
The latter skill may be Dubinsky's best, but the others cannot be underrated. After all, in 2012-13 Dubinsky led the Columbus Blue Jackets in points per game (0.69) and in 2013-14 he led the Blue Jackets in faceoff win percentage (53.0).

In addition, he ranked fourth on the Blue Jackets in power play goals in 2015-16 (four) and led the New York Rangers in shorthanded goals in 2009-10 (two). He's also a regular among his team's leaders in hits, leading the Blue Jackets in that category in 2015-16, with 235.
A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Dubinsky first showed off his vast array of skills for the Rangers, who selected him in the second round (No. 60) in the 2004 NHL Draft and brought him to the NHL in March, 2007.
Dubinsky didn't register a point until the ninth game of the following season, and he didn't score his first goal until the 16th game, but he went on to score 14 goals and 26 assists to finish 10th in the Calder Trophy balloting for NHL Rookie of the Year.
Dubinksy spent four more years with the Rangers, helping them reach the playoffs four times overall, but he was traded to the Blue Jackets on July 23, 2012.
Dubinsky immediately made the Blue Jackets a playoff team, producing 50 points (16 goals) during the 2013-14 season, and he was rewarded on July 11, 2014, when he signed a six-year extension with the Blue Jackets, who named him an alternate captain for the 2015-16 season.
