CBJ@DAL: Bjorkstrand buries the puck off of turnover

Boone Jenner had a goal and an assist for the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 3-2 win against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center in Dallas on Thursday.

Joonas Korpisalo made 22 saves for the Blue Jackets (10-10-5), who will go for their third straight win in the second of a two-game set here Saturday.
After Eric Robinson gave Columbus a 3-0 lead at 4:05 of the third period, Dallas scored twice in 3:13 to get within one goal.
"That was a pretty big moment for us," Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella said. "When they scored two quick ones, I contemplated calling a timeout. I knew we had a TV timeout coming pretty soon.
"Just let them play. There was one little rush, a pretty scary rush, then we settled in. I think that's a really important few minutes as we keep pushing forward in the season here and staying within ourselves."

It was the fourth straight loss for the Stars (6-8-4), who were shut out in their previous two games by the Tampa Bay Lightning (5-0 at Tampa Bay on Saturday, 2-0 at home Tuesday).
"It's not good. I'll tell you that," Dallas captain Jamie Benn said.
Jenner gave Columbus a 1-0 lead at 18:11 of the second period. He bodied defenseman Andrej Sekera off the puck, skated out of the right corner, and went backhand to forehand before beating goalie Anton Khudobin inside the near post.
It was Jenner's eighth goal in 25 games after he scored 11 in 70 games last season.
"I just tried to get in on the forecheck, find the loose puck, and bring it to the net," Jenner said. "I brought it out, just shot it on net, and found a hole."

Oliver Bjorkstrand extended the lead to 2-0 at 2:23 of the third period with an unassisted goal. He scored after intercepting a pass by Stars forward Joel Kiviranta in the slot.
"That's what you want. I'll take that any day," Bjorkstrand said of the turnover.
Said Kiviranta, "We need to play better defense, and the way we're playing at this point of the season right now, I feel sad to make plays and mistakes like that."
Stars coach Rick Bowness said miscues are going to happen with the roster they have.
"Well, he's a kid, he made a mistake," Bowness said of the 24-year-old rookie forward. "We said earlier in the year, we're going to play the kids and we're going to have to live with the mistakes.
"That's what comes when you play a lot of young players. They're going to make some mistakes, and they've got to know that if they make a mistake, they're going to go right back out. If they continue to make mistakes, they're going to lose ice time."
After Robinson scored when Jenner's shot went in off his skate, Miro Heiskanen cut the Columbus lead to 3-1 at 7:35 with Dallas' first goal in 189:46. He took a pass from Jamie Benn and scored from above the right face-off circle for his first goal of the season.

CBJ@DAL: Heiskanen gets the stars on the board

The Stars had not scored since Benn's goal at 17:49 of the second period of a 3-2 loss at the Florida Panthers on Feb. 25.
"It's always nice to score a goal, but we have to win the game," Heiskanen said. "We have to find a way to win these games."
Jason Robertson made it 3-2 at 10:48 when he scored off a rebound.
"We knew they were going to push at some point," Korpisalo said. "They scored two, but I think I could have done a better job there."
