Strome, the fifth player selected at the 2011 NHL Draft who had 50 points in 2014-15, will be a healthy scratch for a second straight game. "I thought I had a couple of good games in a row there going," said Strome, who had been promoted to the top line 12 days ago. "But you've got to find consistency every game. Obviously right now I guess I'm the odd-man out. I don't really have any answers so I don't really know what to say. It is what it is. Hopefully we can win the game and get this ship going in the right direction. Hopefully I can help out when I get the opportunity." Islanders coach Jack Capuano, who said the three games on the West Coast were New York's best this season, doesn't foresee Strome, who has two goals and four assists in 19 games, sitting out much longer. "He's got to just continue to work hard," Capuano said. "He's got a couple of goals, he's an offensive guy for us that hasn't produced offensively. Those games that we just played that he wasn't in the lineup, we played well. He's going to be back in there at some point, but we just came off a really good hockey game and we don't want to change where we're at with the amount of scoring chances that each line had in that particular game." Seidenberg and Pulock skated Monday morning but are not ready to play. Capuano said it's possible Pulock could go to Bridgeport of the American Hockey League for conditioning once he's medically cleared. … Elliott will start in goal Monday, one night after Johnson faced 43 shots in Philadelphia.
