Jagr gets second chance to pass Howe

SUNRISE, Fla. -- Florida Panthers forward Jaromir Jagr will have linemate Jonathan Huberdeau back in the lineup Monday against the Boston Bruins when he tries to move into sole possession of third place on the NHL's all-time points list.

Jagr tied Gordie Howe for third place at 1,850 points Thursday with an assist in the 3-2 loss against the Colorado Avalanche before being kept off the scoresheet Saturday in a 5-1 loss against the Arizona Coyotes.
Huberdeau, who missed the past six games with an upper-body injury, took his place alongside Jagr and center Aleksander Barkov during morning skate Monday.
"For sure I'm excited," Huberdeau said. "I didn't really have a chance to practice with the team, but I feel ready. I feel 100 percent. I'm fresh, I guess. I've got to get my legs moving."
Jagr, who passed Brett Hull for third place on the NHL all-time goals list Feb. 20, has four goals and four assists in the past eight games. He has 98 points (33 goals, 65 assists) in 79 career games against the Bruins.
With Huberdeau back, veteran newcomer Jiri Hudler will move to a line with Nick Bjugstad and rookie Kyle Rau.
Hudler will be playing his first game at BB&T Center since being acquired in a trade with the Calgary Flames on Feb. 27.
Teddy Purcell, acquired in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers on Feb. 27, will have to wait a bit longer to play his first home game for the Panthers because of a groin injury sustained against Arizona. The injury isn't believed to be serious.
Boston is without defenseman Kevan Miller, who sustained an upper-body injury Saturday in the second period of a 2-1 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals. Miller did not accompany the team for its two-game road trip against the Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning. Coach Claude Julien said Miller was day-to-day.
Adam McQuaid is expected to replace Miller on the top pairing with Zdeno Chara. Chara missed the morning skate because of personal reasons, but Julien said he would be in the lineup Monday.
"Obviously (Miller) is a steady presence and a guy that we'll miss, but we're fortunate with the group we've had that other guys have stepped up when we've had injuries," McQuaid said. "We've just got to get it done by committee and take it as it comes."
Florida, which begins a three-game homestand after going 1-3-1 on a five-game road trip, trails Tampa Bay by two points atop the Atlantic Division and leads third-place Boston by one point.
"It's an exciting game for both teams because there's a lot at stake," Julien said. "One team wants to stay there and the other team would like to move ahead. When you look at a game like this at this time of year, it certainly creates a lot of excitement for fans and players."
