Semyon Varlamov Chicago Blackhawks 2018 March 6

The Colorado Avalanche will have a healthy goalie tandem for tonight's game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Semyon Varlamov will get the start after missing Wednesday's outing versus the Philadelphia Flyers with an illness, and Jonathan Bernier will be the backup. An infected cut on Bernier's hand forced the Avalanche netminder to spend the weekend in the hospital and be unavailable for the past three games, but he's taken part in the team's last three on-ice sessions and has been cleared to play.

Andrew Hammond got the start against the Flyers and made 31 saves in his Avalanche debut.
Varlamov will look to continue on his recent strong play, as he's posted an 8-3-3 record, 2.25 goals-against average and .935 save percentage in his last 15 appearances. Prior to Wednesday, he had played in 21 consecutive games, one shy of tying his career high.
Head coach Jared Bednar mentioned one other change to Colorado's lineup versus Chicago, swapping Dominic Toninato with Sven Andrighetto on the team's fourth line. Andrighetto missed the last three contests with a lower-body ailment.
The Chicago Blackhawks did not hold a morning skate at Pepsi Center on Friday after defeating the Winnipeg Jets 6-2 on Thursday in Chicago. Hawks goalies Anton Forsberg and Collin Delia both suffered injuries during the day, forcing emergency backup Scott Foster to play the final 14:01 of the contest.
A starting netminder for the Blackhawks tonight has not yet been announced, but the team did recall J-F Berube from the American Hockey's Rockford IceHogs on Thursday night. Berube made 33 saves in Chicago's overtime win versus Colorado on March 6.
Below is the Avalanche's projected lineup. Line combinations and defensive pairings are subject to change.
