COSTLY WIN
The Jets took three two goal leads last night in Sunrise and saw those disappear before grinding out a 5-4 overtime victory over the Florida Panthers on Saturday night. But the physicality of the game with the Panthers took its toll on the Jets, Josh Morrissey didn't finish the second period, came out and tried in the third but went back to the dressing room for the rest of the night. Adam Lowry took a hip check from Marc Staal in the third and did not return. Rick Bowness said that Lowry is 50/50 when it comes to playing tonight and Morrissey will not play so Dylan Samberg will replace him in the lineup.

SCHEIF SOLID AT BOTH ENDS
Not only did Mark Scheifele score his 37th and 38th goals of the season last night tying his career best in that department. He was also solid in his own end as well. Bowness pointed out a puck battle that Scheifele had with the Panthers Sam Bennett in the third period that the Jets centreman outworked Bennett at a crucial point in the hockey game. Scheifele is now two goals away from the 40-goal mark which has been reached only nine times in franchise history and just twice since relocation in 2011 - Kyle Connor 47 goals in 2021-22 and Patrik Laine 44 goals in 2017-18. Scheifele's 11 multi-goal games is a career high and second in the NHL.
NEW GUYS HELPING
Since being acquired from the Nashville Predators prior to the NHL's trade deadline, Nino Niederreiter has five points in six games with the Jets. The five points have come as part of a five-game point streak (2G, 3A). He reached 20 goals on Wednesday for the third consecutive season. Vladislav Namestnikov has five points (2G, 3A) in four games since being acquired from the San Jose Sharks on trade deadline day. Saturday's game in Florida was Namestnikov's ninth career three-point game.
