GAMES THAT MEAN SOMETHING
There is a tad bit more breathing room for the Winnipeg Jets today as they left Nashville with two points after a come from behind 3-2 overtime win over the Predators on Saturday. Winnipeg now has a 70.2% chance of making the postseason according to Moneypuck.com. The Jets were finally rewarded with their strong play and sticking with the system. Winnipeg hasn't let the pressure get to them. Josh Morrissey said yesterday that there's quite a bit of hockey left, and he would rather play in games that mean something. They will face another Central Division opponent that has traded off key pieces in the Blues. St. Louis dealt Vladimir Tarasenko, Niko Mikkola, Ryan O'Reilly, Noel Acciari and Ivan Barbashev before the deadline and currently sit 16 points out of a playoff spot.

GO TO THE NET
Two of the Jets three goals yesterday involved players going to the net. Adam Lowry's game-tying goal came after he won a face-off and went to the net and tapped in a rebound off a Josh Morrissey point shot. Neal Pionk's game winner in overtime saw the defencemen go straight to the net while Pierre-Luc Dubois cut through the slot and sent a nice pass that Pionk put into the net. Winnipeg will need to continue to accept the challenge from head coach Rick Bowness who said you score goals this time of year with greasy goals around the net.
FACING A WINNIPEGER
Jordan Binnington's two-game suspension has opened the door for Winnipeg's Joel Hofer, who earlier this season signed a two-year, 1.55-million-dollar contract with the Blues. Hofer was playing for the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL and was recalled and started Friday night in Washington where he made 32 saves in a 5-2 Blues win in Washington. Hofer will start again tonight against the Jets.
