POSITIVE SIGNS
As the Jets begin a crucial three-game road trip tonight against the Florida Panthers, the team is feeling good about their recent play. According to Natural Stat Trick, the Jets had 24 more scoring chances (87-63) than their opponents during their homestand. Only James Reimer and Marc-Andre Fleury stood in their way of a perfect run at Canada Life Centre. All the signs are there that Winnipeg is about to turn the corner, they just need some goals on the power play and some puck luck to go their way.

PP HAS TO COME THROUGH
Winnipeg could have won all three of the games at home had the power play come through at least once in the last two. The Jets went 0-for-9 with the man advantage against San Jose and Minnesota so they went back to work at practice Friday afternoon in Coral Springs. The focus was to move the puck as quickly as possible, so there was no structure to the penalty kill so they just attacked all over the ice. The hope is this will come through in game situations, so the Jets don't slow things down and make it easier on the Panthers penalty kill which is ranked 28th in the NHL as of Saturday morning.
OFFENCE FROM DEFENCE
A defenceman was in on all 11 goals the Jets scored during their recent homestand, led by Josh Morrissey's four points (2G, 2A) in the two games. Jets defencemen have combined for 158 points (39G, 119A) this season, which is tied for third in the NHL. Morrissey (67), Neal Pionk (26), and Dylan DeMelo (20) have all reached the 20-point mark, while Brenden Dillon is two points away with 18 points this season.
