QUESTIONS ABOUT EHLERS
Nikolaj Ehlers was on the ice to start during morning skate and took part of the line rushes but then skated off and did not return. Arniel said that Ehlers has been dealing with a nagging injury, will get treatment this afternoon and will be a game time decision. Ehlers has three assists in the Jets first two games. The Jets worked on the power play this morning without the Danish forward. Blake Wheeler joined Pierre-Luc Dubois, Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor and Josh Morrissey on one unit. The other unit had Nate Schmidt, Neal Pionk, Adam Lowry, Cole Perfetti and Sam Gagner.

SAMBERG SEASON DEBUT
Dylan Samberg comes into the lineup this evening to face the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche at Ball Arena. Samberg will replace Logan Stanley. The Minnesota product played four games during the preseason and felt he got better as training camp went along.

Samberg will be paired with Dylan DeMelo and will kill penalties tonight as well. All three defence pairings have changed from the first two games of the season, Brendan Dillon is with Nate Schmidt and Josh Morrissey will play alongside Neal Pionk.

IN COMES AXEL
Since the Jets claimed Axel Jonsson-Fjällby off waivers, Rick Bowness made it clear that the Swede would be in the lineup sooner rather than later. The Avalanche have a lot of speed in their lineup, so Jonsson-Fjällby will provide that and some knowledge of the penalty kill systems that the Jets are using. Associate coach Scott Arniel coached Jonsson-Fjällby while both were in Washington. The morning line rushes saw Jonsson-Fjällby with David Gustafsson and Saku Mäenalanen.

Jonsson-Fjällby played 23 games for the Capitals last season and recorded four points (2G, 2A). Following his first NHL goal, he got the old shaving cream treatment from one of his teammates.
