LINEUP NOTES
Josh Morrissey took the morning skate at PNC Arena and skated alongside Neal Pionk on the top defence pairing and was practicing with the top power play unit. Rick Bowness said afterwards that Morrissey is a game time decision and if he can't go, Kyle Capobianco will play in his place. Also, Connor Hellebuyck will get a much-needed rest after a busy weekend for him in Florida. David Rittich will get the start and he is looking for his 10th win of the season, that would be the first time he's done that since 2019-20 when he was in Calgary.

CANES SHORT SVECHNIKOV
On top of their offensive woes, the Hurricanes found out last night that forward Andrei Svechnikov will be lost for a significant period to a knee injury. The team is waiting for a second opinion on Svechnikov's injury but however long if he is out of the lineup, it is a crushing loss for Carolina who have Stanley Cup aspirations. Winnipeg product Seth Jarvis who skates on the Hurricanes top line along with the other wingers in the top six will have more opportunities down the stretch in Svechnikov's absence.
LOTS OF SHOTS
The Jets close out this three-game road trip tonight in Raleigh against a Hurricanes team that has one goal in their last three games. Don't let their recent offensive woes fool you though as Carolina shares the lead in the Metropolitan Division because they come at you with a lot of speed and shoot the puck from everywhere. Carolina averages 35.1 shots on goal per game, so the Jets will be aware of that heading into tonight's game.
"You have to make sure your goalie sees it. That's a big one. If you give up 40 shots and 30 are from outside of the top of the circles, we walk away from that and it's a pretty good day," said Nate Schmidt.
"The goaltender has to see them and if you are in the lane, you have to block it."
