WINNIPEG -The schedule is about to get busy for the Winnipeg Jets.
In the first half of November, the Jets (10-4-1) played just five times, with two of those games coming on back-to-back nights.
Now, after a 3-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks, they're back at it tonight against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and will play every other day until 2023.
Yes, there is one two-day gap between games in there and the three-day holiday break. But add it all up, and the Jets will play 23 games in 45 days to close out 2022.
Defenceman Kyle Capobianco doesn't seem to mind, though.
"It's great we got the rest," he said. "But once you get rolling and you start turning over games, you can build momentum and build those long win streaks."

PREGAME | Kyle Capobianco

The 25-year-old played his second game in a Jets jersey in Thursday's win over Anaheim, playing 12:20 and getting one shot on goal.
Tonight will be the first time he's suited up in consecutive games for the Jets.
"I'm just grateful for every opportunity I get and I'm trying to have fun with it," he said. "Any NHL team is going to have eight guys, a deep pool. Right here, we're blessed with that. We have so many great young D. I knew it was going to be a battle. I'm just grateful I got to stick around and keep working."
Overall, the Jets won't make any changes to their line-up tonight. Dylan DeMelo will miss his second consecutive game with an upper-body injury, though head coach Rick Bowness believes it to be minor and considers the defenceman a possibility for Monday's home stand finale against Carolina.

PREGAME | Rick Bowness

Connor Hellebuyck, fresh off a 29-save performance against Anaheim, will get 13th start of the season.
In front of him, the lines are expected to look like this:
Connor-Scheifele-Gagner
Perfetti-Dubois-Wheeler
Jonsson-Fjallby-Lowry-Maenalanen
Toninato-Gustafsson-Eyssimont
Morrissey-Pionk
Dillon-Schmidt
Samberg-Capobianco
Saturday's tilt with Pittsburgh marks the fourth time this season the Jets have faced off with an Eastern Conference opponent. All of those games have come at Canada Life Centre - where the Jets are 6-1-0 this season.
They know they'll have their hands full with the Penguins, who are coming off a 6-4 victory in Minnesota two nights ago, a win that opened a three-game road trip for the club.
"They're back to playing the way the Pittsburgh Penguins have been successful since (head coach Mike Sullivan) got there," said head coach Rick Bowness. "They're playing hard, they're playing fast. They were off there, I think they lost five or six in a row, but you forget about all that because this is the best I've seen the team play all year. They're back to playing the way Sully wants them to play."
Sidney Crosby had two goals and four points in that win over the Wild, and has five goals and 10 points in eight games this month.
Jets forward Cole Perfetti idolized Crosby growing up, and got to play against him last season, calling it his 'Welcome to the NHL' moment.
It'll still be cool this season, Perfetti said, but doesn't expect the same amount of awe as he felt in warm-up in his eighth career game on Jan. 23, 2022.

PREGAME | Cole Perfetti

Part of that was the fact both Perfetti and Crosby were at the BIOSTEEL Camp in the summer.
"In the room and working out, he was a great guy. I talked to him a little bit," Perfetti said. "It was an awesome week. It was a big eye opener and seeing what he can do in practice, in the gym, how he takes care of himself, all that kind of stuff, going for a couple dinners with him, just observing and watching him and learning that way was pretty special."
Perfetti has eight points in 15 games this season and has taken that learning attitude he's always had and applied it to becoming a better NHLer every day.
"I'm learning on the fly, learning something new every practice and every game," said Perfetti. "We're doing lots of video together, talking to the older guys, just watching, there are so many ways to learn here. I'm trying to pick up one new thing each day. I think it's coming a long way."
Practice time may be harder to come by now that the schedule is ramping up, so making use of morning skate time and video sessions will be key.
The Jets had a video session to prepare for the Penguins, and no doubt Crosby - who leads the Penguins in points with 21 in 17 games - was a big part of that.
"I'm excited for tonight, obviously excited for every night, but to play a guy like that who is going to go down as an all-time great, it's pretty cool," Perfetti said. "(But) we have bigger things in mind, and getting the two points is what we're all thinking about."
Puck drop is set for 6 pm CT.
