ST. LOUIS -Andrew Copp had a feeling going into Thursday's game against the St. Louis Blues. The Winnipeg Jets (27-23-5) forward told rookie and line mate Jansen Harkins "tonight's the night."
Little did he know how right he would be.
Copp's entire line - with Harkins and Jack Roslovic - combined for five points in a 4-2 Jets win over the Blues, the first regulation loss St. Louis has suffered on home ice in 12 games.
Harkins opened the scoring with his first NHL goal, then Copp scored the eventual game-winner with 10:56 remaining in the third period.
"I'm going to say 'tonight's the night' next game too," Copp laughed. "It was awesome. A pretty special time for him and his family.
"It's a pretty special moment when you look back on it. I'm really happy for him, the overall game we played tonight, I'm happy it was in a game like that where our line contributes and it was a big part of the win."

POSTGAME | Paul Maurice

The trio controlled things at five-on-five, earning over 64 per cent of the shot attempts when they were on the ice.
But the thing that stood out to head coach Paul Maurice is how that line generated offence.
"That line has something," said Maurice. "(Harkins) skates and will drive pucks to the net. On Andrew's goal, that was a big part of it. Just a puck to the net with Harkins not blowing through that zone. He's getting right to the dark areas and that's where we have to score goals from. That's where they're going to come from now."
Harkins' big moment 7:55 into the opening period. Shortly after leading the rush that gained the offensive zone for the Jets, the puck came back to Harkins the left-wing circle. He fired a shot on goal that went top corner on the short side of Jordan Binnington, giving the Jets a 1-0 lead and Harkins his first NHL goal.
"It's obviously pretty special moment for me. Our line was pretty solid all night, so we're happy to get rewarded," said Harkins. "I saw Rosey get that rim behind the net and tried to find a soft spot. I think it was Faulk that was in the lane, so I tried to delay and get it by him. I didn't see it go in. The lane was pretty closed. I tried to get it by the d-man and it squeaked in."

The visitors capitalized on a St. Louis turnover 5:58 into the second. Colton Parayko's play into the Jets zone was picked off by Neal Pionk, who fired a pass up to Kyle Connor to start a three-on-one rush the other way. Connor left it for Mark Scheifele, who slid a feed over to Patrik Laine for a one-timer. Laine didn't get all of it, but it beat Binnington for the Finnish sniper's 20th of the season.
Laine has hit the 20 goal mark every season since his rookie year in 2016-17. It was also the 130th goal of his career, making him the ninth player in NHL history to reach that mark before his 22nd birthday.
But St. Louis would cut into that 2-0 lead on the power play. Colton Parayko was waiting in the left circle when a wrist shot off the stick of Robert Thomas (from the opposite side of the ice) hit the far post and went to Parakyo. The Blues defenceman potted his fourth of the season, making it 2-1 Jets.

That seemed to spark the Blues (32-15-8), who tied it up 80 seconds later when Carl Gunnarsson's wrist shot from the point went through some bodies and sticks before beating Connor Hellebuyck low on the stick side.
But Hellebuyck was solid after that, finishing with 35 saves.
"They're going to get some chances," Maurice said of the Blues. "They get three power plays, they generate nine shots. They're going to push when they get down. At 3-2 they have the team that can. Your goalie is going to have to be a deciding factor and he may have been the deciding factor for us."
In the third period, the trio of Copp, Harkins, and Roslovic put the Jets back on top. Roslovic's initial shot from the left wing caused a scramble near the Blues net, Harkins was able to tap the puck to Copp, who swatted a backhand toward the St. Louis net. Binnington, trying to react on the play, accidentally knocked the puck over the goal line with his right skate to put the Jets ahead 3-2.
"We tried to attack the blue line with speed and Rosy just sent it to the net and I just tried to stop on it," Harkins said. "(Binnington) fumbled it a bit, so I tried to get a piece of it and keep the puck alive. It bounced to Copper and he bared down and was able to bury."

POSTGAME | Nathan Beaulieu

Now the Jets head home for a season-long six-game home stand that begins on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators.
"We have to right the ship a little bit at home," said Copp. "It's going to be really important for us to get a lot of those possible points."
