MONTREAL - The Canadiens will face the Philadelphia Flyers during Hockey Fights Cancer night at the Bell Centre on Saturday.

BID: Hockey Fights Cancer auction
Here's what you need to know heading into the game:
1. Throughout the month of November, the Canadiens will participate in various fundraising and awareness initiatives to emphasize the courage of those living with or moving past cancer. As part of Hockey Fights Cancer, players will sport special lavender jerseys during warmup and will use lavender-colored tape on their sticks in support of the children of Leucan, an association that has dedicated itself over the past 40 years to supporting cancer-stricken children and their families. Fans can bid on these items until Tuesday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. All proceeds from this auction will be given to the association. Over 50 young Leucan members, along with their parents and siblings, will attend the game at the Bell Centre as well.
2. The Habs are back home after losing 6-4 to the Blue Jackets in Columbus on Thursday. The Blue Jackets were up 2-0 with goals from Cole Sillinger and Gustav Nyquist after the first period. Martin St-Louis' squad showed tremendous character and tied the game twice at 2-2 and 3-3 before Sean Kuraly scored the insurance marker for Columbus. With a goal and an assist, Nick Suzuki brought his point total to 21 (11 G, 10 A) in 17 games. Brendan Gallagher and Christian Dvorak each earned two assists in the loss. The team held a practice at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard on Friday. Evgenii Dadonov, Jake Evans, and Juraj Slafkovsky took a maintenance day and did not practice.

Condensed Game: Canadiens @ Blue Jackets

  1. The Flyers are coming off their fifth-straight loss, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Boston Bruins on Thursday. Owen Tippett was the lone scorer with assists from Kevin Hayes and Tony DeAngelo. Philadelphia owns a 7-7-3 record and are tied with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Habs and Washington Capitals with 17 points in the Eastern Conference standings. The Flyers may face the Habs without their leading scorer, Travis Konecny, who left the game against the Bruins with an undisclosed injury. He has produced at over a point-per-game pace with 19 points (7 G, 12 A) in 17 games. Hayes follows closely behind with 17 points (4 G, 13 A) in as many games. The Flyers have been injury-riddled this season with Sean Couturier and James van Riemsdyk on the IR, and Cam Atkinson out indefinitely. The latter has started skating, but there's no timeline for his return to play.
    4. Tonight's game will mark the first meeting between St-Louis and Flyers head coach John Tortorella since the former became the Canadiens bench boss. Tortorella coached St-Louis in Tampa Bay, where they won a Stanley Cup together in 2004, and recently reached the 1,400-game milestone as an NHL head coach. St-Louis had nothing but good things to say about his former coach following the Canadiens' practice on Friday.
