ANAHEIM - The Canadiens concluded the California leg of their four-game road trip with a 3-2 loss to the Ducks at Honda Center on Friday.

The boys were in a good mood upon arriving at the rink.

Head coach Martin St-Louis confirmed that goaltender Sam Montembeault would get the start in net and forward Chris Tierney would return to the lineup.
Defenseman Justin Barron did not participate in tonight's tilt.
The Canadiens wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as it only took Jonathan Drouin 76 seconds to find the back of the net and his first of the campaign.
Rearguard Mike Matheson unleashed a shot from the faceoff circle to the left of goaltender John Gibson, who was unable to neutralize the puck. Stationed near the goal mouth, Drouin completed the play. Josh Anderson earned a secondary assist on the goal.

Unfortunately, the Ducks tied the game quickly after when forward Jayson Megna got the best of the Canadiens netminder.
After 20 minutes of play, both teams returned to the locker room tied at 1-1. Shots were 13-11 in favor of Montreal.
The second period featured no goals, and the home side held a 24-20 shot advantage after 40 minutes.
Special teams hurt the Canadiens as the Ducks scored two power play markers in the third period, courtesy of Mason McTavish and Jakob Silfverberg.
Down by two, St-Louis called a timeout near the end of the game. With Montembeault pulled for an extra attacker, captain Nick Suzuki brought the Habs within one goal, but it was too little, too late for the visitors. Christian Dvorak and Drouin registered assists on the goal.
