Ryan Spooner is among the group of forwards facing the Habs, and is set to play on a line with Matt Beleskey and rookie Anders Bjork.
"I think as a line, we'll just be keeping it simple," said Spooner. "We haven't played in a while, so the important thing for us to get pucks to the net and keep it simple."
When asked about what the forward wants to improve, he said, "I'd say faceoffs to start - if I compete harder there, the rest will fall into place."
Newcomer Kenny Agostino will put on the Spoked-B in game action for the first time on Monday night in Quebec City, after being signed as a free agent on July 1. Agostino put up 83 points (with 24 goals) in 2016-17 with the Chicago Wolves and was named the AHL MVP.
The forward is excited for his first game opporuntity to make an impression.
"It's been a long offseason and I think everyone's ready to get going," said Agostino. "Everyone's been really welcoming. Just little things, learning different systems and what not, but I'm feeling more comfortable every day.
Agostino is expected to play on a line with Jack Studnicka and Chris Porter.
"I think keeping it simple," Agostino said of his line's main focus to the evening. The trio had never skated as a line, and they only had a half hour morning skate to quickly come together. "Nothing too crazy early on; just get it deep and go to work."
Along with veterans and newcomers, rookies like Jeremy Lauzon will be suiting up agains the Habs. The defenseman from Val-d'Or, Quebec is excited to be close to home for the game, and his billet family from his junior team, the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, will be in attendance.
"I'm pretty excited to play in my native province, so I'll try to have fun and enjoy it," said Lauzon.
Lauzon made his NHL preseason debut last September at the start of the 2016-17 season, and participated in the Bruins' rookie camp in early September. He is hoping that his experience at rookie camp last week will help him jump smoothly into game action.
"I'm excited about it. I played my first preseason game last year, so I'm looking forward to it," said Lauzon, who will be paired with Tommy Cross on the back end to start the night.
The theme of "keeping it simple" applies to Lauzon's game as well.
"Just play a simple game, don't be nervous, just skate and when I have the chance to create offense, to take it," Lauzon said of his approach to the game. "Just playing a simple game."
