A lot has happened in our community over the last year, and we have neighbors right here in St. Louis that have been hurting for much longer than that.
As President and CEO of the St. Louis Blues, I believe our organization has a responsibility to join with other civic leaders to help strengthen our community. We've made it our mission to do just that, and recently, the Blues for Kids Foundation provided financial support to rebuild the Sankofa Unity Center in the Walnut Park neighborhood in North St. Louis.
The Sankofa Unity Center was founded by Darren Seals and provides a safe haven for members of the community who are looking to turn away from destructive lifestyles to find a better path.
We think Seals has done an incredible job in making a difference in the community, and we want to continue to support him in those efforts. A special thank you goes out to our partners in this project: Paric, Sysco, Ford Restaurant Supply and the St. Louis Children's Hospital Foundation.
Watch the video above to see some of the incredible work that is happening at the Sankofa Unity Center.
If you'd like to help, you can make a donation to Blues for Kids online. Your contributions will go to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis in direct support of the Sankofa Unity Center.
Thank you for joining us in making St. Louis, and all of its neighborhoods, a better place.
