The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Damon Severson off the Injured/Non-Roster list, club President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Don Waddell announced today.

Severson, 32, has registered 81 goals and 267 assists for 348 points with 531 penalty minutes, 1,316 shots on goal and averaged 21:00 of ice time in 855 career games over 12 NHL seasons with the Blue Jackets and New Jersey Devils.  He was originally selected by the Devils in the second-round, 60th overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft.

The 6-2, 208-pound native of Melville, Saskatchewan has recorded 23-62-85 with 143 PIM and a cumulative +13 plus/minus rating in 208 contests with Columbus after being acquired in a trade from New Jersey on June, 9, 2023.  He set a career-high in plus/minus and ranked second among Blue Jackets defensemen in assists and points in 2025-26 with 8-24-32, 45 PIM and +18 in 71 outings.

Columbus returns to action tonight vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins.  Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.  The game will be televised live on Blue Jackets Hockey Network beginning with a 30-minute pre-game show at 6:30 p.m.  CBJHN is available on Spectrum TV – HD Ch. 320/1320, IP Ch. 349 in most Ohio markets.  It is also available via streaming on Fubo TV and Prime Video.
