ST. LOUIS - The Blackhawks acquired 26-year-old netminder Malcolm Subban from the Vegas Golden Knights on NHL Trade Deadline Monday, part of the return for Robin Lehner in a three-team swap.

SUPPORTING LEGENDS

In his fifth NHL season and third as a full-time NHLer, Subban has served behind a trio of Stanley Cup-winning netminders. In Boston, he began his pro career as the third option behind 2011 Cup champion Tukka Rask. After being claimed on waivers by the Golden Knights early in the 2017 campaign, Subban has served as three-time champion Marc-Andre Fleury's backup for nearly three seasons in Vegas.
In Chicago, he's now slated as the backup to two-time champion Corey Crawford.

NHL PEDIGREE

Subban is the younger brother of New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban and the middle of three NHL-drafted Subban siblings, with younger brother Jordan going to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Draft.
All three came up through the Belleville Bulls of the OHL, where at least one Subban was on the roster for 10 consecutive seasons from 2005-06 to 2014-15.

CHANGE OF SCENERY

Drafted by the Boston in the first round of the 2012 draft, Subban is now on his third NHL team (matching his brother P.K.'s total). He played just twice for the Bruins and has amassed 63 games in Vegas.
This season, the netminder is two appearances shy of a career-best 22 games during the 2017-18 season, the same season he served as backup to Fleury in the Golden Knights' run to the Stanley Cup Final.
Subban's numbers have slipped some this year, seeing his goals against average rise above 3.00 (3.18) and save percentage fall below .900 (.890) for the first time in his tenure. In 2017-18, Subban posted a 2.68 GAA and a .910 SV% in 22 games, while last season he had a 2.93 GAA and .902 SV%.
