Chicago falls behind 1-0 in First Round series against Vegas

The Blackhawks dropped Game 1 of the First Round on Tuesday night, 4-1, to the Vegas Golden Knights. 

David Kampf scored his first playoff goal in the second frame off a shorthanded forecheck from Brandon Saad, while Corey Crawford stopped 29 of 33 shots he faced on the night.

Chicago eliminates Edmonton in Qualifying Round, will face either Colorado or Vegas in First Round

The Blackhawks are officially in the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs. 

With a 3-2 win over the No. 5 seed Edmonton Oilers on Friday night in Game 4, the No. 12 seed Blackhawks won the best-of-five Qualifying Round series, 3-1, to punch their ticket to the final 16.

Chicago puts Edmonton on brink of elimination with equalizer, winner in final minutes of Game 3

The Blackhawks are one win away from advancing following a come-from-behind win over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night, 4-3. 

Chicago led at the first intermission, but trailed at the second and saw goals from Matthew Highmore and Jonathan Toews in the final five minutes of regulation to steal the win in Edmonton and take a 2-1 series lead. They'll have the chance to close out the best-of-five series on Friday night in Game 4.

The Oilers took a 6-3 win on Monday night in Game 2 to level the best-of-five Qualifying Round series, 1-1. Patrick Kane, Slater Koekkoek and Olli Maatta each found the back of the net in the loss, while Corey Crawford made 29 stops.

RECAP: Blackhawks Take Game 1 over Oilers, 6-4

Five-point night from rookie Dominik Kubalik leads Chicago to 1-0 series lead

The Blackhawks started slow in the opening minutes, but made a Game 1 statement with a 6-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday afternoon in Alberta. Chicago now leads the best-of-five Qualifying Round series, 1-0. 

Calder Trophy finalist Dominik Kubalik had five points on the night with two goals and three assists, while Jonathan Toews (2G, 1A), Brandon Saad (1G, 1A) and Duncan Keith (2A) each had multi-point nights of their own.

Corey Crawford notched his 49th all-time playoff win, making 25 saves in the Game 1 victory.

Corey Crawford and Malcolm Subban each split netminding duties in the shutout, while Domink Kubalik enjoyed a three-point night and Brandon Saad and Dylan Strome scored in the victory as well.
