It was a banner night for the Blackhawks offense, potting five first-period goals and eight total on the night in a 8-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks at the United Center.
Patrick Kane set a career mark with six points on the night (1G, 5A) and Dylan Strome logged his second career hat trick with a four-point game (3G, 1A). Alex DeBrincat (1G, 3A), Brandon Hagel (1G, 1A) and Jake McCabe (2A) all logged multi-point games in the win as well. Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 stops in the win, his 18th of the season.
Chicago's goal total tied a season mark for most goals in a game, but was the first without an empty-net tally among the total (Jan. 26 at DET, Feb. 25 vs. NJ).

The Blackhawks opened the scoring just 98 seconds in as the top line connected with a full-line tally. Entering the zone, Alex DeBrincat chipped a puck back to Patrick Kane along the wall, who quickly found Dylan Strome on the far side of the ice. Strome buried a one-timer into the top corner past John Gibson for the 1-0 score.

The top line cashed in a few minutes later when Patrick Kane found Alex DeBrincat in the high slot. The winger walked to the far side of the slot and tucked a shot under the arm of John Gibson for a 2-0 Blackhawks lead.

Chicago made it a 3-0 game seconds after killing off the game's opening penalty. Jake McCabe, fresh out of the box, chased a puck down in the offensive zone and fed Alex DeBrincat further up the near-side boards. DeBrincat hit Patrick Kane, fresh off the bench, in the high slot with a centering feed as the winger walked in and slid a shot past John Gibson for the period's third goal.

1st - 17:14 - Ryan Carpenter (Patrick Kane, Caleb Jones)

Patrick Kane notched his fourth point of the period with the setup of Ryan Carpenter's third goal of the season. Caleb Jones sent a pass to the corner, where Kane surveyed the scene before throwing a low-angle shot towards the net. Carpenter, who was setting a screen in front, tipped the shot past John Gibson for a 4-0 Chicago lead.

The captain netted his 350th career goal to close out the explosive opening frame in the final minute of play. Jonathan Toews picked off a pass at the Anaheim blue line on a penalty kill and sprung a 2-on-1 rush the other way with an outlet to Brandon Hagel. The winger sent a pass back to Toews inside the offensive zone where the center elevated a writer past John Gibson for a 5-0 score entering the break.

2nd - 0:19 - Brandon Hagel (Jake McCabe, Connor Murphy)

The scoring fun continued into the second period as Brandon Hagel got on the board just 19 seconds into the frame. Jake McCabe found the winger at the far blue line with a stretch pass, where Hagel fought through a pair of Ducks defenders to open up a partial breakaway in the offensive end. He pulled the puck to his backhand at the edge of the crease and slid a shot behind Anthony Stolarz for a 6-0 lead.

2nd - 4:31 - Jakob Silfverberg (Sam Steel, Josh Mahura)

The Ducks got on the board in the second off a scrum in the corner. Sam Steel was able to slid a puck to an open Jakob Silfverberg in the slot behind the mass of bodies, where the winger put a quick shot on goal to make it 6-1.

2nd - 7:19 - Trevor Zegras (Sam Steel, Hampus Lindholm) -- PP

Anaheim scored again on the power play less than three minutes later as Trevor Zegras converted a one-timer at the dot. Sam Steel took a pass from Hampus Lindholm at one dot and immediately slid a pass across to the other for Zegras to put home the 6-2 score.

2nd - 7:57 - Adam Henrique (Cam Fowler, Max Comtois)

The visitors cut it to 6-3 just 37 seconds later as Cam Fowler floated a wrister from the point through a pair of bodies in front, including Adam Henrique who tipped the shot past Marc-Andre Fleury for a 6-3 game.

Dylan Strome notched his second goal of the game and Patrick Kane his fourth primary assist of the evening to put Chicago up 7-3 late in the second on a 2-on-2 rush. Kane blew past his defenseman on the outside at the same time Strome dodged his mark in the slot, with Kane placing a centering feed perfectly at the back post for Strome to redirect past Anthony Stolarz for the goal.
