Caleb Jones was chosen by the Edmonton Oilers in the fourth round (No. 117) of the 2015 NHL Draft. His older brother, Seth Jones, is a defenseman for the Columbus Blue Jackets and his father, Popeye Jones, played 11 seasons in the NBA and is an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers.
Caleb played for Portland of the Western Hockey League, the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and signed an entry-level contract with the Oilers on April 7. 2016. He played a full season for Bakersfield of the American Hockey League in 2017-18 and was recalled by the Oilers on Dec. 12, 2018 following an injury to defenseman Oscar Klefbom.

Jones was called up to the NHL for good Dec. 9, 2018 after playing 14 games at Bakersfield. He signed a two-year contract with the Oilers on Jan. 15, 2020.
