BLOG: Andrew Shaw still loves shin pads

Even with the sound off, Andrew Shaw's game-winning goal in Game 1 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals remains one of the biggest in Blackhawks history.
But wearing a microphone for NBC, the ever-quotable Shaw delivered a fantastic line in the celebration that followed.

"Bryan Bickell used to give me a hard time, because he said I never scored goals with my stick. It was always off my body," Shaw said during a panel at the 2019 Blackhawks Convention. "I think I had a few that year off my shin pads and the excitement of scoring a goal like that just took over."
The result? A triple overtime game-winner punctuated by an iconic line - "I love shin pads!" - from Shaw.
