U.S. Bank Outdoor Ice Rink Fan Vote

ST. PAUL --The Minnesota Wild and U.S. Bank, in partnership with EZ Ice, today announced that Marshall, Minn. and Duluth, Minn. are the winners of the outdoor rink contest.
The Minnesota Wild held an online contest seeking submissions for communities in need of a rink. Fans had the chance to submit local nominations and eight communities were selected for fan voting. The top two most-voted for communities each receive a donated outdoor ice rink. The fan voting contest ran from January 30 to February 15. Marshall finished first with 34,168 votes and Duluth finished second with 32,323 votes.

"We are positively overwhelmed by the incredible response from every community that participated," said Carin Anderson, Minnesota Wild Senior Vice President of Corporate Partnerships and Retail Operations. "In order to grow the game and to make the sport more accessible for everyone, we are truly grateful for our wonderful partner U.S. Bank in helping us create a greater State of Hockey."
The Marshall outdoor rink will be located at the Red Baron Arena and Expo (1651 Victory Drive). The Duluth outdoor rink will be located at the Duluth Heights Community Center (2802 West Mulberry Street). Each rink will be 40 feet by 80 feet. Both communities will also receive two nets and pucks for the rinks. EZ Ice will begin construction on the outdoor rinks later this winter.
