Boudreau family

For more than 35 years, Bruce Boudreau's Golden Horseshoe Hockey School in St. Catharine's, Ontario has served as a destination for players from mites all the way to bantams and high school.
Now, the Boudreau family is bringing that experience to the Twin Cities.
The Wild coach, along with his wife, Crystal, and sons, Ben, Andy and Brady, will be starting a satellite camp in Coon Rapids from Aug. 20-24 at the Coon Rapids Ice Center for kids ages 6-14.

The all-day camp begins at 9 a.m. and will go until 5 p.m. every day, with each participant getting four hours of ice time per day.
The Coon Rapids school will be the third satellite camp started by the Boudreaus, following one that began last year in Belleville, Ontario, and another that will begin this year in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where Ben is an assistant coach with the Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL.
Having four camps in two different countries was something Bruce Boudreau could have never foreseen when he launched the school in 1982, but with the help of his wife and his three sons, has become a reality.

"It makes me very proud of the kids that they wanted to continue doing this," Bruce Boudreau said. "Obviously, their experience at it was tremendous and the fact that they want to pass along that love and passion for the game of hockey, it really is gratifying."
In addition to on-ice work, which includes ice skills, power skating, scrimmages and games, off-ice work includes ball hockey, soccer, kickball and other team-building activities.
The camp will be coordinated by Brady, the youngest of Boudreau's three sons. A goalie for the Minnesota Blue Ox hockey team, which plays its home games at the Coon Rapids Ice Center, Brady has grown up attending the main hockey school in Ontario.
Brady's Blue Ox teammates will serve as coaches and counselors at the camp.
"He's been around it his whole life, since he was 20 days old," Bruce Boudreau said. "He knows what works and the Coon Rapids facility is really good for what he wants to do. It's crazy how organized he is. I'm really looking forward to it."
Participants at the school will be divided up into teams, groups that will remain the same each day. A week-long tournament is held, with points being awarded for wins, good behavior and clean play.
Each team of kids is led by a camp counselor, typically someone who has graduated from the school. The counselors help all students get their equipment on, provide basic coaching as well as support and encouragement while also taking daily attendance.
Once on the ice, the Boudreaus have a number of well-credentialed coaches from all levels of professional and amateur hockey leading drills and games.
Several Wild players and from other NHL teams are expected to appear as well. Wild goaltender Alex Stalock and defenseman Nate Prosser will be at the school, with more Wild players being announced in the future. Assistant coach Darby Hendrickson will also assist.
Winnipeg Jets forward Matt Hendricks has also committed and players from other NHL clubs are expected to be in attendance.
Cost of the week-long camp is $550. Interested parents can sign up their children
