The Stars have four prospects competing in the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta: Daniel Ljungman (2020 fifth rd., 154th overall) and Albert Sjoberg (2021 seventh rd., 207th overall) for Sweden and Mavrik Bourque (2020 first rd., 30th overall) and Logan Stankoven (2021 second rd., 47th overall) for Canada.

Day 1 games
Sweden 6, Russia 3

Ljungman had a goal and led Sweden in faceoff win percentage (66.7%, 12-for-18) in the club's 6-3 victory over Russia. The 19-year-old forward also had three shots on goal in 14:51 TOI.
Sjoberg, 18, went scoreless in 3:55 TOI.

Canada 6, Czechia 3

Bourque, 19, had an assist in Canada's victory over Czechia. He also added two shots on goal in 13:01 TOI. Stankoven was a healthy scratch and has yet to make his World Juniors debut.
Sweden's next game is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 27 vs. Slovakia at 8:30 p.m. CT. Canada's next game is set for Tuesday, Dec. 28 vs. Austria at 6 p.m. CT.
