BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The start wasn't pretty, but the finish sure was.
With four power-play goals, timely saves and a will to win, the Stars pulled off a 5-4 comeback victory over the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center on Thursday.

No doubt it was a game the Stars absolutely needed to win, and they found a way to do just that.
It snapped a three-game skid and broke a winless drought of seven in a row on the road.
John Klingberg led the club with four assists/points, while Tyler Seguin and Jason Robertson each had two goals and three points. Braden Holtby delivered 20 saves on 24 shots to give the Stars a clutch win in the opener of their four-game road trip.
Here are the five takeaways of the game.

POWER PLAY COMES ALIVE

Boy, did the Stars need every one of their four power-play goals on Thursday. It was an epic performance that accounted for all but one of their goals in the game.
Special teams, ever so important on any given night, were game changers for the Stars. They killed off two key penalties late in the second period and early in the third to stay within striking distance.
From there, the Stars' power play did the rest.

KLINGBERG FINISHES WITH FOUR ASSISTS

It was an impressive night on the scoresheet for the veteran blueliner, who set a career high in assists and tied a career high in points. Three of his four helpers came on the power play, including a terrific sequence up top that led to Seguin's second goal.

His four-assist night gave him 21 points in 32 games this season.

ROBERTSON PICKS UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF

After missing the past two games with a lower-body injury, Robertson didn't miss a beat in his return. His two-goal, three-point performance was clutch in the team's comeback. Robertson was a force to be reckoned with all night on even strength and especially the power play.
His impact on Thursday proved just how valuable he is when he's in the lineup.

BIG NIGHT FOR SEGUIN

The veteran forward delivered his best performance of the season and was an impact player all game. Two goals on Thursday gave him three in his past two games and 12 on the season. Seguin's second goal came in the clutch by tying the score 4-4 on a beautiful shot from the right dot.
Seguin finished the game with three points, five shots and two hits in 19:24 TOI.

RESILIENCE

The Stars certainly didn't make things easy on themselves, but they erased multiple two-goal deficits and never wavered. The importance of coming away with two points was enormous, and the Stars found a way to get it done.
We'll see if this win turns into two on Friday in Detroit.
