FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has acquired forward Evgenii Dadonov from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Denis Gurianov. Montreal will retain 50% of the remaining portion of Dadonov's contract.

Dadonov, 33, has recorded 18 points (4-14--18) in 50 regular-season contests with Montreal during the 2022-23 campaign. Among team leaders, he ranks sixth in assists (14) and shares seventh in points (18).

"Evgenii is a skilled forward that can play anywhere in our lineup," said Nill. "Recording 20 or more goals in four of his previous five seasons, he is a proven goal-scorer at the NHL level and will bolster our offensive attack."

The forward has played nine NHL seasons with four clubs (Florida, Ottawa, Vegas, Montreal) and has amassed 283 points (128-155--283) in 463 regular-season contests with 19 game-winning goals. He has made one appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2020 with Florida and registered one assist (0-1--1) and seven shots in four games.

The 5-foot-11, 189-pound native of Chelyabinsk, Russia was originally selected by Florida in the third round (71st overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft.

Gurianov, 25, has registered nine points (2-7--9) in 43 regular-season games with Dallas this season. In six NHL seasons, all with Dallas, the forward has posted 103 points (46-57--103) in 257 regular-season games.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward from Togliatti, Russia was originally selected by Dallas in the first round (12th overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft.
