Over the past several years, the Sharks have made it a priority to develop strategic partnerships with organizations who, like the Sharks, are both innovators and leaders within their respective fields. In launching the helmet decal program in San Jose, the Sharks sought long term partners who have both a strong global identity as well an inherent pioneering spirit, making both SAP and Zoom ideal partners to be represented on the player's helmets for this first-year program.
"The Sharks are proud to have SAP and Zoom represented on our game helmets throughout the 2021 season," said San Jose Sharks vice president of marketing Doug Bentz (

). "Having deep relationships with both SAP and Zoom, two fantastic organizations that maintain a strong worldwide presence as well as a commitment to making a positive impact within our community made both a natural fit for the helmet decal program and we are happy to be partnering with them."
Last month, the NHL's Board of Governors approved the implementation of corporate partner helmet decals for the 2021 season.
The Sharks begin the 2021 season on January 14 when the team plays at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona against the Arizona Coyotes. This season, all NHL teams will play a 56-game schedule followed by a traditional 16-team playoff tournament that will begin in May and finish by mid-July.
