Shark Life: Bye Bye Beard... Again

Quarantine: it does something to you.

While many men across the country are using this shelter in place period as an opportunity to let their facial hair grow out, one Sharks player decided to go against the grain.

Joe Thornton shaved his beard.

In a video shot by his wife Tabea, Jumbo Joe stood fully bearded (and, as per usual, shirtless) next to his daughter Ayla. With an I Dream of Jeannie-inspired head nod, Ayla magically gets rid of her dad's iconic beard (the magic of video editing, of course).

While Jumbo has long been known to sport facial hair, the beard we all know and love (loved?) was first grown in the 2015-16 season. Thornton had previously shaved his beard just prior to the 2018-19 season and again a few months later, so this isn't the first time he's put us through this.

Only time will tell if he keeps the clean shaven look or immediately returns to his bearded ways.
