Sharks-Avalanche-Faceoff

Welcome to the Gameday Blog, the one-stop shop for San Jose Sharks fans on every playoff gameday.
Today the San Jose Sharks take on the Colorado Avalanche for Game 2 in the Second Round of the 2019 Playoffs at SAP Center.
The Sharks are coming off a Game 1 victory over the Avalanche on Friday night. Although Team Teal did not score first in the contest, they managed to grind out five goals to beat Colorado 5-2. Gustav Nyquist scored first for San Jose and registered his first playoff goal as a Shark. Joe Thornton, Kevin Labanc and Brent Burns all found the back of the net and Timo Meier sealed the win with an empty-netter. Joe Thornton became the 24th NHL player to register 100 playoff assists. Brent Burns became the first defenseman in Sharks history to record four points in a playoff game with one goal and three assists in the contest.
Puck drop may be earlier today but don't expect the boys to be off to a slow start. The Avalanche look to bring a bigger game to the Tank tonight as they try to even the series before heading to Colorado for Games 3 and 4.
Not only is Team Teal in #PlayoffMode, but the entire organization and City of San Jose have also kicked it up a notch. If you aren't attending tonight's game, there are still plenty of ways for you to join in on the playoff festivities.
