Here are five things to know ahead of tonight's game.

1. The road trip continues

Power lifts Sabres to a 3-2 overtime win in Dallas

Last night, the Sabres defeated the Dallas Stars 3-2 in overtime at American Airlines Arena to kick off their four-game road trip.
Craig Anderson, who became the 31s t goaltender in NHL history to appear in 700 games, made 29 saves and did his part - especially early on - to help Buffalo secure the victory.
Owen Power scored his first goal of the season with the overtime winner.

2. Going head-to-head
This is the second of two meetings between the Sabres and Blues this season. Buffalo defeated St. Louis 6-2 in Buffalo the last times these clubs faced each other on November 23, 2022.
The Sabres are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games against the Blues and 1-7-2 on the road. This is the 129th game all-time between Buffalo and St. Louis. Buffalo has a 51-60-17 series record.
The Blues' nine-game home win streak against Buffalo dates back to January 21, 2012
The Sabres are 15-36-11 on the road against the Blues all-time.
3. Keeping streaks alive
Alex Tuch has notched 40 points (15+25) in his last 31 games. A point in tonight's game would give Tuch a point streak of six or more games for the second time in his career and the first time as a member of the Sabres.
Victor Olofsson has 10 points (9+1) in his last 10 games and is riding a four-game goal streak.

BUF@DAL: Dahlin blasts in a one-timer from the point

Rasmus Dahlin has recorded 36 points (7+29) in his last 31 games, including five points (1+4) during his current three-game point streak.
Tage Thompson has recorded 12 points (5+7) in his last 11 games and has recorded at least one point in each of his last four games. With a point in tonight's game, Thompson would earn his third point streak of five or more games in 2022-23.
In his last 25 games, Jeff Skinner has notched 32 points (14+18). Skinner is riding a four-game point streak and a point in tonight's game would mark his second point streak of five or more games this season.
4. More on Olofsson's productive stretch

ANA@BUF: Olofsson hammers home go-ahead goal in 3rd

A goal in tonight's game would extend Victor Olofsson's goal streak to five games, which would make him the fourth Buffalo skater since the 2000-01 season to record a goal streak of five or more games.
Jason Pominville (six games, October 20 to November 2, 2006), Thomas Vanek (five games, October 10 to 18, 2008) and Rasmus Dahlin (five games, October 13 to 22, 2022) are the three other Sabres skaters who have done so in that span.
If Olofsson scores tonight, it would mark the first time since 1998-99 that the Sabres have had two instances of a skater recording a goal streak of five or more games in the same season.
Miroslav Satan recorded a six-game goal streak (Feb. 11 to 21, 1999) and an eight-game goal streak (December 19, 1998 to January 2, 1999) in 1998-99.
5. Looking ahead
The Sabres will next play on Thursday in Winnipeg. It's another 8 p.m. faceoff on MSG and WGR 550 with pregame coverage on MSG kicking things off at 7:30.
The trip concludes on Saturday in Minnesota, which wraps up a January in which the Sabres played 15 games in 28 days.
