The Buffalo Sabres have renewed their partnership with Tops Friendly Markets as the team’s Official and Exclusive Grocer.
The five-year extension continues a longstanding relationship between two staples of the Buffalo community. Tops Friendly Markets has served Western New York since opening its first supermarket in Niagara Falls in 1962 and stands today as one of the region’s largest employers with 55 stores in the area.
“Our relationship with Tops has always been built around a shared commitment to Western New York and the people who make this community special,” said Jake Vernon, Buffalo Sabres chief commercial officer. “We’re thrilled to continue that partnership for another five years and build on the experiences we’ve created together for Sabres fans at KeyBank Center and throughout the region.”
Tops will continue to serve as presenting partner for one of the most popular nights on the Sabres’ calendar, the Thanksgiving Eve game on Nov. 25. Fans who attend this year’s game will receive commemorative Sabres salt and pepper shakers courtesy of Tops.
Tops will also take on sponsorship of the Sabres Fan Zam, giving fans the unique opportunity to ride on the KeyBank Center ice between periods.
The Sabres will continue to host player and community events at Tops Friendly Markets locations. Zach Benson, Josh Doan, Owen Power and Jason Zucker recently visited the East Amherst store as part of 2026 Community Day.
