Oct. 15 – Postgame updated on Kulich, Norris
Forward Jiri Kulich "wasn't feeling well" during Thursday’s morning skate, so he missed the win in Toronto and returned to Buffalo as a precaution. All his tests came back negative, and he’s considered day to day, per coach Lindy Ruff.
And forward Josh Norris, injured late in the 3-on-3 overtime, is “in protocol, so we’ll see how he comes out of that,” Ruff said.
Oct. 15 – Dahlin "50-50" for Saturday
Rasmus Dahlin remained out for Thursday’s game in Toronto with his upper-body injury. The Sabres captain has not been ruled out for Saturday’s road trip finale in Montreal.
“I’d say it’s probably a 50-50,” Ruff said.
Ruff also gave updates on the following injured players Thursday morning:
- Goaltender Alex Lyon had been slated to start Tuesday’s game in Montreal but had a setback in his recovery from an upper-body injury. There is currently no timetable on his return.
- Forward Jason Zucker was on the ice for Thursday’s morning skate and is getting “a lot closer” to returning to the lineup.
- Defenseman Conor Timmins is progressing in his recovery and “getting close to skating.”
