Predators Again on National TV 12 Times for 2019-20 Season

Four Home Games, Eight Road Games on NBC Networks; 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on NBC

by Thomas Willis @TomAWillis / Director of Digital & Radio Content

NBCSN had the option to exclusively air 11 Nashville Predators games during the 2019-20 regular season, so that's exactly what they chose to do.

After appearing on national TV a dozen times last season, the Preds will again hit their allowed total a year later with 11. And that's not counting their appearance in the NHL's premier regular-season game, the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic against the Dallas Stars at Cotton Bowl Stadium on Jan. 1, 2020 (at noon CT).

With the Nashville market and Predators fans driving ratings the last few years like never before, NBC executives keep showing off the Preds to a national audience as much as they can. Hockey fans across the country will be treated to Opening Night in Smashville when the Preds host the Minnesota Wild on Oct. 3 (at 7 p.m. CT). In total, NBC and NBCSN will air four home games for the Preds and eight road games, including a Wednesday Night Hockey appearance in Washington against Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals.

Predators to Face Stars in 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic

Central Division Teams Will Play at Cotton Bowl Stadium

by Press Release @PredsNHL /

Nashville, Tenn. (Jan. 25, 2019) - The National Hockey League announced Friday that the Nashville Predators will face off against the Dallas Stars in the 2020 Bridgestone Winter Classic. The game will take place on Jan. 1, 2020, at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

The 2020 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic will be the first-ever, regular-season outdoor game appearance for both Nashville and Dallas. Dallas will become the ninth team to host the game, joining Boston, Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis and Washington, with Boston, Buffalo and Chicago being the only teams to have hosted multiple games. Although the 2020 event will mark the 12-year anniversary of the NHL Winter Classic, it will be the first game of its kind to be played in the South.

Bridgestone, the arena naming rights holder of the Nashville Predators, and one of our biggest partners, returns as the title sponsor of the NHL Winter Classic for the 11th consecutive year. In those 11 years, with Bridgestone's support, the NHL Winter Classic has become a widely-anticipated annual sporting event.
