Nashville (17-17-1) won the first meeting of the weekend with Chicago (16-14-5) with a 3-1 triumph at United Center. Two points separate the two clubs going into another meeting on Sunday evening. On Saturday, Preds goaltender Juuse Saros extended his stretch of allowing a single goal or less to seven consecutive decisions. Forward Luke Kunin returned to the Nashville lineup after a 13-game absence and notched two assists.
Prior to Saturday's game, the Preds assigned goaltender Devin Cooley to Chicago (AHL) and announced winger Filip Forsberg and blueliner Matt Benning would miss the contest with upper-body injuries. They are both day-to-day.
Sunday Evening Update:The Predators have recalled goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo from the taxi squad under emergency conditions. Nashville has assigned defenseman David Farrance to the taxi squad.
