Nashville, Tenn. (June 19, 2016) - Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced Monday that the club has signed defenseman Joonas Lyytinen (YOH-nuhs LEE'YOO-tih-nehn) to a two-year entry-level contract.

Lyytinen, 22 (4/4/95), played his fourth season with KalPa of the Finnish League in 2016-17, helping the club to a silver medal while tying for fourth in postseason points among blueliners (2g-5a-7pts, 18gp). The Espoo, Finland, native also tied for seventh in goals (8) and 14th in points (8g-16a) among defensemen during the regular season.
Nashville's sixth choice, 132nd overall (fifth round), in the 2014 Entry Draft, Lyytinen represented Finland in the 2015 World Junior Championship on a team that also included current Predators goalie Juuse Saros.
