Nashville Predators forward prospect Joakim Kemell is headed to the World Juniors.
The 18-year-old Jyväskylä, Finland, native, selected by Nashville in the first round (17th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, will skate for his home country at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship in Moncton, New Brunswick.

This will be Kemell's fourth time skating for his home country on the IIHF stage, after earning silver with Finland's National Junior team in 2022 and bronze with their U-18 team the same year.
Additionally, Kemell was named to the World Junior All-Star team in 2022.
Kemell, currently skating with the Finnish Liiga's JYP, has 10 points (8g-2a) in 24 outings.
The 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship begins on Monday, Dec. 26 with four games, including Finland vs. Switzerland at Avenir Centre in Moncton.
Finland will also face Slovakia, Latvia and the United States to conclude the tournament's preliminary round before the knockout round begins on Jan. 5.
