Two evenings after an Opening Night win in Manhattan, the Predators will try for a clean sweep of New York City when they face the Islanders tonight at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It's the first of two meetings this season between the two clubs, with the other set for next Saturday night in Nashville.
Nashville topped the Rangers on Thursday night at Madison Square Garden by a 3-2 final and will try to start the season 2-0-0 for the first time in the last three years.
As is usually the case in the first outing of the campaign, the Predators say there was good and bad on Opening Night, but the win was most important in setting the tone for what's to come, including tonight's meeting with the Isles.

"We did some good things, and there are things we can be better at," Predators Head Coach Peter Laviolette said following the win. "I said coming in here, we'll see where we're at. I thought we were competitive. We turned the puck over a little bit too much. Some of it was decisions, some of it the puck was bouncing on a us a little bit too much. It seemed like when we turned it over they were quick to get offense going back the other way. [Pekka Rinne] made the saves when we needed it, and the guys did a good job of just staying with it."
The Predators did not practice on Friday but will hold a morning skate ahead of tonight's game.

Last Time Out:
Filip Forsberg, P.K. Subban and Colton Sissons all scored for Nashville in the 3-2 victory over the Rangers, while Pekka Rinne made 34 saves in the win. Sissons tallied into an empty net, and it ended up being the game-winner with the Rangers getting their second late in the contest.
Sissons (1g-1a) and Mattias Ekholm (2a) each recorded two points in the game, while Forsberg, Subban, Kyle Turris, Craig Smith and Ryan Ellis all posted one point on the night. Smith led the club with six shots in the game; Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson had four apiece.
Ryan Hartman drew into the lineup after being activated from Injured Reserve on Thursday afternoon. Frederick Gaudreau, Anthony Bitetto and Matt Irwin were scratched for the Preds in the opener.
The Opposition:
The Islanders opened their season with a 2-1 overtime win in Carolina on Thursday evening. Josh Bailey scored the OT winner, while Valtteri Filppula also cashed in for the Isles. Thomas Greiss made 45 saves on the night as his club was outshot by more than a 2-to-1 margin.
Thursday marked the first game for former Predators Head Coach Barry Trotz behind the Islanders bench. Trotz won the Stanley Cup last season as head coach of the Washington Capitals.
