Congratulations to Team Pittsburgh, which won the 2018 America's Showcase high school hockey tournament, defeating Team Illinois, 4-3, in St. Louis.
The Team Pittsburgh roster featured 20 local players from the Pennsylvania Interscholastic High School Hockey League.
Members of the team were goaltenders Tyrik Barkley (Elizabeth Forward) and Sergio Benitez (Plum); forwards Kellen Almady (West Allegheny), JC Bele (Bethel Park), Ryan Brown (Connellsville), Nick Carretta (Franklin Regional), Wyatt George (Mt. Lebanon), Jared Gerger (Hempfield), Zachary Kutch (Armstrong), Ben Kuzma (Quaker Valley), Benjamin Leslie (Penn Trafford), Vincenzo Mazur (North Allegheny), Jace Rearic (Armstrong) and Oldrich Virag (Franklin Regional); and defensemen Nicholas Antonio (Baldwin), Matt Berner (North Hills), Michael Daley (Upper St. Clair), Tyler Duderstadt (North Allegheny), Andrew Jacobs (Conneaut) and Patrick Roach (Mars).
The head coach was Paul Bonetti (Chartiers Valley) and the assistants were Lee Grafton (Armstrong) and Justin Glock (Baldwin). Gina Colligan was the general manager.
